Man oh man, was this a cool location for a wedding! The Cavanaugh Flight Museum was the PERFECT venue for bride Katie and groom Mike. Mike works for an air traffic control company that covers small and major airports in the DFW metroplex so obviously it was a good choice for this sweet couple. I originally met Katie at the Star-Telegram Bridal Show and we scheduled a consultation shortly thereafter. We ended up meeting at Starbucks for a casual coffee and to talk about photography and nearly 3 hours later, we realized how long we’d been chatting! We had so much to talk about… both of us are getting married this year, we both have adorable German Shepherd Mix pups and Katie said she was going to try scuba diving on her honeymoon, something I’ve been doing since I was 12. She told me about her plans for the wedding day including the blue plane backdrop for the ceremony, the plane themed cake AND check this out, their AWESOME EXIT where they would taxi down the runway in the plane that was the backdrop for their ceremony!!! The wedding day came and we had fun with formals as the couple and their bridal party busted out some pretty cool aviator sunglasses. This wedding was an absolute blast and I was so happy to capture it for Katie and Mike! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Patterson!
