Fair Park in Dallas was the perfect backdrop for the first part of this session! When the bride and groom contacted me and told me they wanted a vintage inspired style shoot for their engagement session, I was excited to start working with them! The couple is getting married in New Orleans next May, where they originally met during college at Loyola University. They have made Dallas their home and wanted to get some photos here. Fair Park lends itself to the style of the shoot and the couple frequently goes to White Rock Lake. Amy and Hayden both have a unique style so I knew that they would find the perfect attire for their session. And they hit the nail on the head! Amy did a great job finding the perfect dress and shoes. Hayden’s look was fantastic with suspenders and a colorful bow tie in their wedding colors: dark reds and lavender. For the props, I borrowed suitcases from one of my friends and the couple brought the roses and the wonderful quilt. We started off in Fair Park where we photographed against the side of a building. It was perfect… the brick, windows and grass made for a lovely scene! We continued to walk around Fair Park a bit and found some great old windows on another set of buildings. Up next, White Rock Lake! I absolutely LOVE photographing at White Rock Lake! It’s such a great spot to find bridges, docks, trails, tall grass, fields and a great place to photograph sunset! Sunset at White Rock Lake is gorgeous! When I saw the field with tall grass and flowers, I was smiling ear to ear! I knew it would be the perfect spot for the second part of our session.
