It was such an honor for us to be a part of this event! The Make A Wish Foundation is a wonderful organization and we were excited to be asked to photograph this year’s event, Delicious Wishes. Delicious Wishes is an annual fundraiser put on by the Make A Wish Foundation that gives local restaurants the opportunity to showcase their food. Lead Chef Eric Hunter of Fire Oak Grill in Fort Worth recruited local restaurants to highlight their best cuisine using local ingredients. There was a great turn out by local restaurants. In attendance were Fire Oak Grill, The Sundance Club, The Reata, Tillman’s Roadhouse, River Crest Country Club, The Capital Grille, Clay Pigeon, Ilano Winery, Terra Grill and Fish Creek. So many people came out to support this organization and the families that it provides assistance to. Adults and kids alike were in attendance. All children were given chef jackets and hats by River Crest Country Club and balloon animals were being made for the children as well. The evening consisted of sampling delicious dishes from the restaurants listed above, a silent auction whose items were made by the Make A Wish kids, speeches by Make A Wish families and those who work for the organization, an auction and the most exciting of all, Xaiver had his wish granted that evening! Xavier was completely surprised by this! Xavier was brought up on stage and he and the audience’s attention was directed to a large screen television. A New York Jets football player came on screen and invited Xaiver to come to New York to meet the team. The player also told Xavier that he would be coaching the team for a day! It was lovely to see his priceless reaction and for those in attendance to see his excitement. Pom poms had been made for this occasion and everyone in the crowd cheered on Xavier as he was presented with his coach’s jersey. Many vendors came to this event to give their services in honor of such a wonderful organization that provides hope, strength and joy to many families. Delicious Wishes 2014 by The Make A Wish Foundation was just amazing and we’re so happy to have been a part of it!
