I had a wonderful time photographing The Society of Wedding Professionals November Luncheon that was hosted by The Empire Room. The space was beautifully decorated by S.E.A.T by Design, Lizzie B’s Flower Shop, and Astounding Sounds. Gil’s Elegant Catering served delicious appetizers, a great salad and a wonderful entree of chicken and artichokes. The deserts were also incredible! The awesome Photo Bus DFW was the on-site Photo Booth and The Popcorn Market pulled out their amazing Dill Pickle, Pinot Noir, Tuxedo, Caramel and Savory Cheddar Cheese flavors as the favors!
The Society of Wedding Professionals has been focusing on supporting The Birthday Party Project, a non-profit organization whose goal is to “bring joy to homeless children through the magic of birthdays.” The organization is hosting over 120 parties in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2014. Attendees of the luncheon brought gifts for the organization. By the end of the luncheon, there was a table piled with gifts and a number of donations were also given.
The speaker for this luncheon was Kelly Simants of Sage Wedding Pros and Sweet Pea Events. The topic of her talk was “Goal-Setting Strategies for Success.” Kelly started with her background and a brief history of how she came to be where she is today. Her talk on strategies for success and some exercises was next. She included a couple of great clips including Kid President and Dwight K. Schrute from The Office. The talk was wonderful and Kelly sent all attendees home with ways to strategize for success!
Concluding remarks and member reminders were given by SWP board members before the giveaways took place! The luncheon was absolutely wonderful and I look forward to continue to attend and photograph events in the future!
